Ms O'Connor's 6th class put on a super assembly for their parents on Friday morning. They talked about lots of topics which they have been exploring this term. They showed some of their amazing projects based on various European countries which they have been studying. They also talked about the famous artist, Pablo Picasso and they held up samples of their cool artwork based on this world famous artist. Some of the pupils had samples of their joined writing which they are trying to perfect. They sang a wonderful song as Gaeilge in which Ms O'Connor and 2 pupils played the ukulele as an accompaniment. The highlight of this fabulous assembly was a song which the entire class wrote together called, "Queen of Angels"! It got a standing ovation! All the parents were then invited to the Senior block for refreshments and breakfast. A big thank you to Ms Downes (as usual) for organising such a lovely breakfast for parents and children alike. A big thank you to Ms O'Connor for preparing the children for such a wonderful assembly. Well done 6th class! You were brilliant!
Chan siad an amhrán seo as Gaeilge:
Riptide (as Gaeilge).
- ú, ú, ú, ú, ú, ú
Bhí faitíos orm roimh thaibhsí i lár na hoíche.
Bhí mé scanraithe ag cailíní is iad i mbun sacadh spraoi.
Ó, mo chairde ag dul in éad.
Is tú spéirbhean mo mhianta ag deireadh an lae.
Aúúú, aú-ú-ú, faoi realtaí anocht.
Curfá:
Léi thíos in aice na taoide.
‘Teacht is imeacht na taoile.
‘Maidí scaoilte le sruth againn.
Mo ghrá thú. É i gcónaí ag líonadh. Deireadh anois leis an gcaoineadh.
An t-amhras imigh ar bharr tonn.
- ú ú ú, ú ú ú
An dúil is mó dhuit scríofa ar d’aghaidh,
Is tú ag iarraidh briseadh amach chun blais a fháil den saol is Gan rudaí beaga a chur faoi cheilt.
Ní fiú bheith bailiú deannaigh ar an tseilf.
Aúúú, aú-ú-ú, faoi realtaí anocht.
Curfá
- Aon rud amháin, ach rud amháin tá uaim.
An bhfanfaidh tusa? An bhfanfaidh tusa liom? Aon rud amháin, ach rud amhain tá uaim
Is féidir linne. Is féidir linne éalú leis an saol.
- Cliú is cáil atá amach roimpi.
‘Samhail is giorra do Mhichelle Pfeiffer a bhfaca mise riamh, ó.
