We wrapped up the Time to Read programme this morning in our school library. The programme began in Queen of Angels in January and today our volunteers came in to say goodbye to their reading buddies. James and Mary Kate read aloud two poems about books. The children each wrote about and shared what they enjoyed about the programme. Each child was presented with a certificate and a bookmark and we all enjoyed refreshments whilst completing a questionnaire worksheet. Finally, the children then presented the volunteers with a thank you card.
A big thank you to the Teneo volunteers who gave up their time to visit our school every week. The children loved spending time with you all and it was clear to see your relationship with them grow as the weeks went on. Thank you for the generous donation of books. Thank you also to Rachel from Business in the Community for facilitating the programme and for fostering the link between Teneo and Queen of Angels. We look forward to more reading again next year!
