Our senior block pupils enjoyed a wonderful visit from a local author Dairíne Ní Dhonnchú.
She writes children’s books in Irish for children.
She was motivated to write funny Irish books for children due to the lack of availability and has had them published so we can all enjoy them. We are lucky to have copies in our school library.
Dairíne told the children about her wonderful career as a teacher, author and actor.
She has written many books in her career and has three of these published. She played a doctor in Ros na Rún, a television series. She also lends her voice to the announcements on the bus.
The children asked her lots of interesting questions about becoming an author, having her books illustrated, publishing and her plans for the future.
Thank you to Dairíne Ní Dhonnchú for sharing your time and knowledge with us. It was a really interesting session.
