Harvesting our school apples in the 4th classes

The best apple crumble recipe | BBC Good Food

Ms McTeague's and Ms Martin's 4th class students, along with Wendy, visited our school garden recently to pick apples from our apple trees. Laden with apples, they returned to the school kitchen to begin the task of baking apple crumbles. While the adults busily peeled, cored and chopped the apples, the pupils not only helped make the crumble topping but they helped stir the large pot of stewing apples. The children wrote out the recipe back in the classroom and then returned to the kitchen to get a bowl of delicious hot crumble and pouring custard once it was fully baked. They were able to enjoy their dessert in the school garden thanks to our beautiful September weather!
