What a fantastic day of fun the 3rd classes experienced in Dublin city centre recently. After alighting from the Luas we made our way to the National Museum of Ireland. There we headed back in time and explored the Vikings in Ireland; the bog bodies; life during the Stone and Bronze Ages; the Ancient Egyptians and how lucky were we to see the real Tara Brooch, Derrynaflan and Ardagh chalices and the mightily impressive ogham stones. What a great morning exploring our History. We then headed across the road to Merrion Square park and had great fun at the playground. We visited the Oscar Wilde monument and bumped into one of our infamous writers, Mr James Joyce on Nassau street as he was enjoying Blooms Day celebrations!
We returned to school and were treated to an ice-pop after walking 7km around the capital!
