Green Flag Award Ceremony
Queen of Angels P.S has participated in the Green School an Taisce initiative
for many years now, it is a fantastic environmental management and
education programme for schools around the country. To date we have been
awarded five Green Flags for our commitment to the programme, our work
has been based on the themes of Litter and Waste, Water, Energy, Travel, the
most recent being for Biodiversity. We are incredibly lucky to have beautiful
grounds in our school, our wonderful caretaker Peter and gardener David work
tirelessly to keep our school grounds looking beautiful. We have a dynamic
Green Schools Committee made up of pupils from 3rd to 6th class who are totally
committed to making our school a ‘greener’ place. We have our very own
gardening expert in Susan Durrad who brings a wealth of knowledge and
expertise to our school community. Susan runs a gardening club and has
taught our pupils so much about the wonder and beauty of nature. Ms.Fallon,
Susan and three of our wonderful 6th class pupils, Joao, Natalia and Sean
recently attended the Green School Award Ceremony in Dublin City University
where they were awarded with Queen of Angel’s 5 th Green Flag, we are
extremely proud of our green achievements to date!
