A Message to Sixth Class

Dear Parents / Guardians and Sixth Class,

Congratulations on your Graduation and completing your Primary School Education in Queen of Angels. Your last day had to be fast tracked to 12th March this year. We did not expect to have to say Goodbye in this manner, but it was great to see you all on Thursday at the school for your Graduation.

Each of you has contributed to Queen of Angels in your own unique way. Whether it was a Prefect role, fruit and milk distribution, Student Council, Green School committee and even taking the responsibility of minding a younger class during wet days. You should all be very proud of what you have achieved over the course of your primary education, particularly during the last three months of distanced learning and home schooling.

Some of you have lots of confidence and for more of you that confidence will grow in time. What will help your confidence to grow even more is the belief in yourself. It is important to treat everyone that you meet with respect and they will respect you in return. So always endeavor to behave in a manner that you are proud of.

Your memories from your time in Queen of Angels are vast. Some of you started with us in Junior Infants, right up to and including 6th class. Your graduation seemed a long time ago back then but now you have reached this day. Your memories include sports days, school tours and trips, intercultural days, Seachtain na Gaeilge, Halloween and Christmas shows to name but a few. You will always be remembered as the Class of 2020 that has a third of the year cut short. You have made many friends along the way and as you begin your preparations for First Year, you will continue to make new friends.

Many people have helped you along the way. Firstly your parents and guardians have done an amazing job in helping you along your journey of primary school. You should all be very grateful to your parents. Former teachers and SNA’s have also witnessed your time in QOA. Each and every one of them are extremely proud of you.

It has been a pleasure to teach you all in both 5th and 6th class. I have really enjoyed the daily routines, the laughs, the stories and news, the creativity displayed during lessons and the level of commitment and enthusiastic participation in everything we did.

Parents and guardians – thank you once again for all your support during the past two years. It has been great to get to know you, and I look forward to seeing you around the school again.

Once again, Congratulations 6th Class of 2020 on your Graduation.

Please keep in touch – I would be delighted to know how you are getting on in First Year.

Best of luck on your journeys ahead, and take care.

Mr. Connaire.
