We were extremely fortunate to have Wicklow First Responders come into our school and give a First Aid training course to our parents, our 6th class students and our staff.
We all learned how to give compressions, use a defibrillator, and to recognise signs of a stroke.
The responders have offered to make this an annual event in our school so that parents and 6th class and new staff can be trained and current staff updated regularly.
We are fortunate to have our own AED device on the wall beside Suzanne’s office and the school hall. Hopefully we will never need to use it.
