This term in our Afterschool activities we were so delighted to have a new addition to our programme.
Every Tuesday for one-hour Ms. Parm Sandhu promotes mindfulness and wellbeing to our 1st class children.
The children this class benefit greatly from this gentle, calm, and mindful environment. Since beginning this programme any anxiety and stress issues in this class have been greatly reduced as children feel calmer and more confident coming into school each day and they eagerly wait each Tuesday for their ‘Wellness Hour with Parm’.
During this time the children practice wellbeing phrases and positive affirmations. This time is also combined with art and craft activities which are all based around mindfulness and relaxation.
At the end of their session the children practice breathing techniques on the yoga mats and cushions provided.
