Time to Read 2022
Students from Second class were so so lucky to be chosen this year to particpate in the ‘Time to Read’ programme with the Business in Community initiative.
Volunteers from the company TENEO very kindly donated their time to helping children from second class with their reading.
The children and volunteers communicated via the Google Meet platform and enjoy reading a wide variety of different books each week.
Books we are currently reading are from both international and Irish authors and illustrators such as Phil Earle and Steve May and also John and Fatti Burke. These books were very kindly donated to us by the ‘Time to Read’ programme and we are so grateful to be included in this amazing project.
The children love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere which the volunteers create for them each week. They wait eagerly each week for their ‘Time to Read’ lesson.
In the coming weeks the vounteers hope to bring the children on a trip to the TENEO offices and the local Dundrum library.
