Hi all,

Hope you're all keeping well.

As you know our First Holy Communion was to take place on Saturday 23rd May. I've been talking to the Parish Office and Fr. Peter and because of the uncertainty around the schools and churches reopening, Fr Peter is saying a very special mass at 10am on the 23rd. This can be viewed live from the church, it will be live streamed on churchservices.tv.

Fr Peter said Mass for the Confirmation Boys and girls last week and I believe some families made a big effort, some dressed up in their confirmation outfits to participate virtually. Some had garden parties afterwards! Fr Peter made it a very special event for all who tuned in.

He is planning to do something similar for the First Communion children and their families on 23rd.

I believe that a certain flock of sheep will be emerging from their confinement for the occasion!

The Taoiseach, Mr. Varadkar, has said that we will not be back in school until September. We were all so sad to hear that news but we will just do our best and get on with things. We have seven weeks until the summer holidays and we will make the most of them.

The teachers are planning ways in which we can keep everyone engaged and interested (and have some fun along the way!). We will depend on parents/ guardians to help us with this. Let’s make it fun and challenging at the same time and we’ll get through this together.

Please continue to send completed work and activities to your teacher at the email address you were given. Every teacher loves to see all the wonderful work you are doing and we are all so proud of you that you are continuing to work hard. How many of you planted sunflower seeds as suggested by Mr Mac? If you did keep us up to date with how they are growing!

Our pupils have been absolutely fabulous for the past two months and I know they will continue to be their brilliant selves in the coming months as restrictions lift. In the meantime, stay safe and be kind to everyone you meet.

Ms Donegan.
