Dear Parents, guardians and pupils,
Happy new year to you all.
What a start to the school year - remote learning and working again. This is not what we expected to be doing at the beginning of 2021, but it is for the health and safety of all and we will make the best of it. Hopefully, we will all be seeing each other again very soon.
In the meantime, we are lucky that a lot of the boys and girls are familiar with using Seesaw and this is how we will be conducting the remote teaching. Yesterday I had a meeting with the In-School Management Team to ensure the smooth return to online learning and we have also come up with some fun activities that the whole school can take part in. More on that to follow over the next few weeks.
Parents will be able to collect schoolbooks from the school at the times listed below. It will not be possible to arrange alternative times or days for health and safety reasons. Parents with children in both groups may collect all books at either time.
Junior Infants to 2nd class - Friday 15th January between 9.30am and 11am from the area outside the school block.
3rd class to 6th class - Friday 15th January between 11am and 12.30pm from the area outside the school block.
Work will be posted by each teacher daily along with some activities. Your childs teacher will be in contact with further details in relation to what work they will set, what and when work will be reviewed and corrected and how to go about the work that is set.
Our Special Education Teachers will also be in contact with the children they teach regarding specific work to be set for the children.
In the meantime, I hope you all stay safe and I look forward to seeing the children again in February.
