First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion, 2022

The boys and girls from Ms Byrne's, Ms Butler's and Mr Conlon's 2nd classes made their First Communion on Saturday, May 14th. They had been practising every day running up to the ceremony and all their hard work paid off! Some of the children read the readings, others said the Prayers of the Faithful, while some children brought up gifts. The beautiful offertory flower arrangements were made by our SNA, Susan .Fr Jim said the mass and was assisted by Fr Laine and Fr Joe, who was visiting from the States. The choir, which was conducted by Ms Pigott and Ms Archer, performed wonderfully on the day. A big thank you to Kathy, our wonderful SNA in Mr Conlon's class who lent her support and kindness to the children throughout their year long preparation for this sacrament. She was also the amazing photographer on the day! And a big míle buíochas to Áine who crafted together our amazing paper flowers for the pews and to Suzanne, our wonderful secretary, for making the booklets. On the following Monday the children came into school dressed in their beautiful outfits to have their photographs taken and they then visited all the classes to show off their great style. They all agreed they had a fantastic weekend of celebrations.
