Blast Off
Both second classes have been learning about space. They have been
learning facts about the planets and space missions. They have enjoyed doing
their own research on the school tablets also. In art they designed their own
rockets and solar systems.
In science they made rockets that could stand out of plastic bottles. They
quarter filled the bottles with vinegar and added bicarbonate soda slowly
and corked the bottle. When the bicarbonate soda dissolved in the bottle,
the pressure sent the rockets flying through the school yard. They tried
different sizes and shapes of bottles and they noticed that the bigger the
bottle the better the blast off! They were keen to repeat the experiment. It
was a fantastic afternoon of fun and laughter for us all.
