6th Class

A couple of messages and a list of work for the week
14-June-20

Hi 6th class,

I hope you are all still keeping well. Below is a number of messages along with the work for the week. Nothing needs to be printed off. Any sums or written pieces of work can be done in your copies.

  • Your end of year reports can be collected from the school on Thursday 18th June from 11am. If you have younger siblings in the school, you may collect their reports at your time-slot to save your parents / guardians making more than one journey to school.
  • You will also have a small graduation in the hall on Thursday from 11-12pm.
  • You will only be allowed in one by one with your parents / guardians in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.
  • You will receive a small gift bag and a certificate to mark the occasion of your graduation.
  • Please bring a memory stick with you so I can give you a PhotoStory – a collection of images of your time in QOA.
  • If you have not already done so, please ensure that you return all your shared school books on Thursday. These books include Mathemagic, Bun Go Barr, Better English, Racing Ahead, Window of the World (history and geography). You do not need to return books you have written in such as Spelling Made Fun, Mental Maths and Handwriting workbook. If we do not receive these textbooks back we will not be in a position to distribute books to all in September.

Work from 15th – 19th June

English

  • Complete any remaining spelling workbook activities. Put words into sentences. Use a dictionary to look up the meaning of any words you do not understand.
  • Continue on with your handwriting workbook.

Maths

Science

  • Have a look through this link and complete any experiment that you may find interesting. Take photos of them and send them on to me as I would be delighted to see how you’re getting on: https://sciencekids.co.nz/experiments.html

Art

  • Try draw some Still Life. This is picking an object such as fruit and drawing it while focusing on shadows, shapes, colours etc.
  • Continue on with the Draw with Don YouTube link

SPHE

  • What concerns do you have about staring your new school in September? Is there anything you are looking forward to / not looking forward to? Do you know anyone going to your new school with you? What have you been grateful for in QOA? Write them down.

Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday.
