On Tuesday morning, 9 excited readers left Queen of Angels with their teachers to visit the Teneo office. We were invited to Teneo, on Hatch Street, as part of the Time to Read programme to see where our volunteers work. When we arrived we were greeted by Eimear and the volunteers. First, we went to the important board room. Here the children made name tags. Then we went to the work space area to see the volunteers’ desks. We went into the staff room kitchen too. Then we met the CEO and visited his office. The children chatted with him and told him about their favourite books. Every one wrote their name on the white board in his office! We were then invited back to the board room for snacks and activities. Finally, we took part in a very important conference call on the big screen. The group divided into two teams and the children talked about their business ideas. Every child then received a certificate and goody bags with treats from their reading buddy. A big thank you to Rachel from Business in the Community for facilitating the visit. Thank you to our volunteers Jack, Evan, Iris, Sana, Aoife and Eimear for hosting us and making us feel so welcome. We are all looking forward to more reading next week!
