We wrapped up the Time to Read programme this morning in our school library. The programme began in Queen of Angels in November and today our volunteers came in to say goodbye to their reading buddies. The children each wrote about and read out what they enjoyed the programme. Mason and Musa then read aloud two poems about books. The children then presented the volunteers with a thank you card. Each child was presented with a certificate and a bookmark and we all enjoyed refreshments.
A big thank you to the Teneo volunteers who gave up their time to visit our school every week. The children loved spending time with you all and it was clear to see your relationship with them blossom as the weeks went on. The children are undoubtedly more confident readers now. Thank you for the generous donation of books, they will be put to good use!
