We were delighted in Queen of Angels to have been chosen as the school to host the official launch of the 2026 Our World Awards. On Wednesday September 17th, Mr. Neale Richmond TD, Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora, was warmly welcomed by our staff and pupils where he joined our 5th Class pupils during a workshop about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and chatted with them about the work of Irish Aid. The workshop was a really fun and engaging way for the children to explore global issues while learning about countries such as Sierra Leone, Laos and Mozambique. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Our World Awards programme and we were thrilled that Queen of Angels got to feature so heavily in its launch. Our school prefects welcomed Mr. Neale Richmond to Queen of Angels and were such wonderful ambassadors for our school. We also had pupils from 3rd and 4th class who took part in photoshoots during the visit. It was a really exciting day for everyone involved and one that our pupils are bound to remember for a long time. To mark the day, Irish Aid had organised photography and videography to be used in media articles, on their website and across social media channels to help raise awareness of the programme and to encourage other schools to get involved. A big ‘well done’ to all staff and pupils who made the day such a success!
