Congratulations to the boys and girls from Ms Quinn's 2nd class on presenting a wonderful assembly to their parents and the rest of the school. The children talked about what they had learned in class so far this term. They learned about the Northern lights and they all produced some beautiful chalk pastel aurora borealis for us to admire! They celebrated World Kindness Day and talked to us about the importance of being kind, helpful and gentle to everyone. They also explored the very current topic of Winter and how the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. They made beautiful winter pictures and also some cosy houses to show how lucky they all are to have shelter from these cold, wintry nights. They remembered their loved ones who are no longer with us as this is the month of November and during this month in Queen of Angels we all say,
" In November We Remember".
They made scary masks in art class as they had studied the traditional Mexican festival called the Day of the Dead ( Día de los Muertos). The boys and girls recited some wonderful poetry in English agus as Gaeilge! They ended their assembly with a great Christmas hit called " Merry Christmas, Everyone".
The parents joined the class for a lovely breakfast afterwards in the junior block prepared by Ms Downes. Well done, 2nd class and Ms Quinn! You were brilliant!
