Ms. Archer’s fourth class had an absolutely wonderful day today! They were invited to Airfield Farm in Dundrum to take part in a special Maths Trail, organised by Airfield as part of Maths Week for schools across Dublin.
The class walked down to Airfield and were excellent along the way. Once there, they had their small break and then got stuck into the maths challenge. Armed with clipboards, the children explored the farm, measuring the chicken coop, calculating the area of the eating area and completing lots of fun mathematical activities. They really enjoyed themselves and behaved beautifully throughout.
A highlight of the visit was getting to see the new calves that had recently been born. The last time the class visited Airfield, they had met the pregnant cow — so it was very special to meet her new calves this time! They also got to watch the cows being milked, which they found exceptionally exciting.
Afterwards, they headed to the playground, where they had great fun on the zipline and other equipment. They enjoyed their big lunch there, then tidied up carefully, did all their recycling, and got ready to back to school…
The class then walked back , tired but very happy after another fantastic outing. What a great day for Ms. Archer’s fourth class!
