Chess Tournament
On Wednesday 6th March 2024 a group of students represented our school at the annual Ficheall Chess Tournament, this year held in Our Ladys Boys School in Ballinteer. This was our second year taking part.
This year we sent three teams – one “Budding Masters” consisting of 3rd and 4th class pupils and two “Masters” teams consisting of 6th class and more experienced chess players.
An amazing time was had by all culminating in our “Masters” groups taking third and fourth place and our “Budding Masters” taking second place. One of our “Buds” came joint first overall and one of our “Masters” joint second.
Well done to everybody who took part. Our weekly lunchtime chess club is getting even more popular, so much so that we may be sending even more teams next year.
