On Monday, Mr. Cinnaires Fifth Class enjoyed a memorable and enriching trip to Airfield Farm in Dundrum. The class set off on foot, and they could not have been more fortunate with the weather. It was a crisp, dry day—perfect for exploring the farm and learning outdoors.
Upon arrival, the children were delighted to see the farm’s newest piglets and were fascinated as they observed the cows being milked. AIB were also on-site conducting some filming, and several pupils had the exciting opportunity to take part. Their footage is expected to appear on the AIB website in February 2026. As soon as the confirmed viewing dates are available, we will share them with parents.
The group then moved to the Airfield kitchen, where the children rolled up their sleeves and cooked their own scrambled eggs and toast. They even learned how to make fresh butter from scratch. This hands-on experience was a highlight of the day, and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.
Throughout the trip, the class demonstrated exemplary manners and behaviour. They represented their school with pride, and both Mr. Connaire and Mr. Mac could not have been more impressed. It was, in every way, a fantastic day for everyone involved.
