Our fabulous Green School Committee were recently treated to a visit to the
beautiful Kilmacurragh Gardens in County Wicklow. This was organised as a
‘thank you’ for all the hard work the committee members carried out in order
to obtain the 5 th Green Flag for Queen of Angels. Kilmacurragh was the perfect
spot to visit as our most recent flag was awarded for Biodiversity and
Kilmacurragh Gardens showcases Biodiversity to an unbelievable level. The
children were given a guided tour of the gardens where they were shown
Monkey Puzzle trees, Rhodedendrons, Irish Orchids, wildflower meadows as
well as a huge array of magnificent flora and fauna. We all enjoyed a picnic
after our tour and agreed that we will definitely be making a return visit as
soon as possible!
